Southport Chapter Celebrates 150th Anniversary

· 1 min read

Southport Chapter has celebrated its 150th anniversary with a special ceremony attended by distinguished guests from across the Province and beyond. The occasion marked a century and a half of unbroken fellowship in one of the District’s most respected Chapters.

A Proud History

Founded in 1876, Southport Chapter has weathered two world wars, economic upheavals, and the many changes of modern life while maintaining its commitment to the principles of the Ancient and Accepted Rite. Over the decades, it has perfected hundreds of members and contributed generously to charitable causes.

“One hundred and fifty years of continuous fellowship is a remarkable achievement. It speaks to the enduring appeal of our Order and the dedication of the many brethren who have kept this Chapter flourishing.”

The Celebration

The anniversary was marked by a special meeting at which the Inspector General presided, followed by a festive dinner at the Prince of Wales Hotel. Members past and present gathered to share memories, renew friendships, and look forward to the Chapter’s next chapter.

A commemorative booklet detailing the Chapter’s history was presented to all attendees, compiled by the Chapter Historian from the extensive archives held at the local Masonic library.
